Ramya Sethuraman

Ramya Sethuraman is an experienced Product Manager currently working at Facebook, where she is responsible for News Feed and has launched several successful products. Earlier in her career, Ramya majored in Computer Science at the University of Kentucky. Later, she joined IBM as a Software Engineer. In this role, she designed, developed, and tested the user interface of Lotus Sametime Web Conferences, leading the accessibility engineering work of this e-meeting software. As a result, she was granted a patent for developing a method and system for resource-based synchronization between endpoints in a web-based real time collaboration. After ten years at IBM, Ramya became a UI Architect at business payments company Bottomline Technologies. She was responsible for the front-end architecture of healthcare-related web applications, as well as for developing and implementing web accessibility of WebSeries, Bottomline’s banking application. In Facebook she started out as an engineer focused on Facebook accessibility and launched high impact programs for the company’s culture, such as The Empathy Labs.
