Akram has been building platforms for the past 14+ years at EMC, Microsoft and now Uber, passionately working on 1.0 products from vision to delivery. He is a computer scientist at heart with great interest in cloud computing, distributed systems, IOT, and ubiquitous computing.Currently, at Uber, Akram enjoys building Uber's
cutting edge Workflow Automation Platform. Prior to that, he worked on the v1 of Windows Azure and lead EMC object storage platform. He has extensive experience in team building with a focus on product planning, GTM, market sizing, competitive analysis, feature prioritization & specification, user experience design, and building product roadmap. He is also experienced in cloud computing; being one of the early program managers in Microsoft Azure in 2009, he has participated in its commercial launch, working on various areas such as developer & API experience, cloud deployment & diagnostics, distributed compute infrastructure and internal platform onboarding.He earned a Bachelor degree in Computer Science from the American University in Cairo. Moreover, Akram has been granted 5 patents on his inventions.
