Akram Hassan

Akram Hassan has been building platforms for the past 14+ years at EMC, Microsoft, and now Uber, passionately working on 1.0 products from vision to delivery. He is a computer scientist at heart with a great interest in cloud computing, distributed systems, IoT, and ubiquitous computing.

Currently, at Uber, Akram enjoys building Uber's cutting-edge Workflow Automation Platform. Prior to that, he worked on the v1 of Windows Azure and lead EMC object storage platform. He has extensive experience in team-building with a focus on product planning, GTM, market sizing, competitive analysis, feature prioritization & specification, user experience design, and building product roadmap.

Akram is also experienced in cloud computing; being one of the early program managers in Microsoft Azure in 2009, he has participated in its commercial launch, working on various areas such as developer & API experience, cloud deployment & diagnostics, distributed compute infrastructure, and internal platform onboarding. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the American University in Cairo. Moreover, Akram has been granted 5 patents on his inventions.
