Debbie is an enthusiastic leader currently working as the Head of Product at BBC.
There she has the responsibility of creating and working on a durable vision while keeping the product up to the expected standards. She has succeeded at all this while working in an ultra-competitive and fast-paced environment. As a leader, she takes care of all she can so that her brilliant teams can focus on their problem-solving and other important priorities. Before joining BBC, Debbie worked for the Department for Work and Pensions for over 10 years. Most recently as Head of Product Strategy of Universal Credit, where she was in charge of an especially high profile digital service used by millions of citizens and tens of thousands of staff. Her crucial senior leadership role was critical in overseeing the advancement of a team from 50 people in just one location to 370 over three locations. She is commended by colleagues as having hard but achievable expectations of her team that allowed junior members to thrive and grow. Debbie completed her studies at the University of Glasgow with a degree in Mathematics.
