VP of Engineering, Twitter
Nick has more than 20 years of experience working in the tech industry, with deep knowledge in machine learning, business intelligence, and natural user interfaces.
He started his career with an internship in NASA, where he developed several projects over the course of 3 years. He was responsible for researching the use of micro-fabricated Fresnel zone plates in x-ray source analysis. This work was part of the $250M High-Energy Solar Spectral Imager (HESSI) satellite project.
As a General Manager at Microsoft, he was responsible for Power BI, Microsoft's premier business intelligence suite. Under his leadership, a team of engineers and product managers strived to achieve operational efficiency in order to quickly become the world’s most recognizable, capable, and frequently used modern business intelligence solution.
After his more than 15 years at Microsoft, he went on to work at Reddit as their VP of Engineering. While leading the engineering team through hyper-scale, he helped expand their phenomenal development team, delivered rapid improvements to different products, and kicked off some new strategic bets.
He then moved to Looker as the Chief Product and Engineering Officer. His mission at Looker was to inspire everyone to embrace their curiosity, dig deeper and keep asking questions. Once they were acquired by Google, he continued to Lead the Looker product organization as a Senior Director of Product and Engineering at their new home in the Google Cloud Platform.
Nick is currently the Vice President of Engineering at Twitter where he leads a top-notch team of 700 engineers that are responsible for all of Twitter's consumer-facing products.
