Tyler Chance
Product Director, The Wall Street Journal
Tyler is a product director at The Wall Street Journal, specializing in systems and storytelling tools that power our industry-leading journalism. Working as a product professional in the media industry, it's been his job to preach empathy and inclusion as the path to great design and execution even in the
most legacy of publications, as well as setting the paper's internal product strategy to take all of the production systems to the next level. Before Product Management entered his life, his background was in design, working as an Art Director for WSJ, as well as working across several Gannett newspapers. He has also served as an adjunct professor for journalism and journalism management, as well as served on the national board of directors for the National Lesbian & Gay Journalists Association. Beyond journalism, Tyler has also held several odds-and-ends positions that help inform his product work every day, including freelance WordPress development and even helping run the family business: an engineering calibration laboratory.
