He started his career in Product Management at Innovations for Poverty Action, where he managed core functions such as finance, strategy, marketing and human resources of a start-up social enterprise that provides access to safe water to 400,000 people in 6 countries and at the time of his departure the enterprise had $1.5 MM in annual revenue and a staff of 50. After 2 years, he went on to become a Senior Business Systems Analyst at Securus Technologies, working as a hybrid Project Manager and Business System Analyst responsible for addressing organizational strategy problems by analyzing and developing business requirements, functional specifications, and design solutions. Owais graduated Cum Laude with High Honors from Harvard University with a BA in Political Science and Government, as well as the winner of the Harvard Foundation Peer Recognition Award, Harvard College Distinguished Senior Award, Harvard's Excellence in Leadership Award, and Dean’s Race Relations Awards.
