Lauren Schuman is the VP of Product Growth at MURAL, a digital workspace for guided visual collaboration.
She is a seasoned leader who sits at the unique intersection of product, marketing and data and drives the strategy and execution of MURAL’s product-led growth efforts. Her team is responsible for driving growth in product usage via new user onboarding and activation, virality and monetization. She brings over 15+ years of experience scaling growth-stage eCommerce and SaaS businesses, evangelizing a “test and learn” culture that leverages data and user insights to create best-in-class digital customer experiences. Most recently, she launched the growth discipline at Mailchimp, first in marketing and later in product, as the Senior Director of Product Insights and Growth, leading a 40-person team with key focuses on activation, conversion, and retention. Under her leadership, Mailchimp went from running 0 to over 200 experiments in less than two years. These tests provided valuable UX research on customer needs and intentions, as well as product analysis on user behavior, which informed product and business strategy, leading to multi-million dollar revenue growth over her four year tenure. She also worked in online merchandising and site optimization at ticketing platform Experience, and Fabric.com, an Amazon company. Lauren holds a Masters of Science in Marketing from Georgia State University and a marketing degree from James Madison University. She lives in Atlanta with her wife and draws leadership inspiration from Dr. Brené Brown.
