Product Lead, Amazon
Charu Sareen is a Product Lead on the SageMaker team at Amazon Web Services.
She is currently leading the team's Feature Store capability. Before joining Amazon, she spent a few years working at VMware. She started out with the company as a Product Management Intern. In this role, she developed a Total Cost of Ownership model and leveraged it to drive pricing decisions for the VMware Cloud within AWS. After her internship, she was hired as a full-time Product Manager where she continued her work on their Cloud Platform Business Unit.
Charu has also worked as a Product Manager Intern at U.S. Cellular. Before her roles in Product, she was a Data Science Manager at Fractal Analytics in New York and an Analytics Manager and Senior Analyst at LoyaltyOne. In these roles, she thrived and improved when it came to A/B testing, behavioral analytics, and customer loyalty best practices.
For her Bachelor's degree, Charu attended the Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology. She earned her degree in Information Technology. Later, she went on to continue her studies at the University of Michigan, Stephen M. Ross School of Business. There, she earned her MBA, specializing in Strategy and Marketing. Charu is also a SAS Certified Base Programmer for SAS 9.
Charu is an active member of her community, volunteering her time to help others. Currently, she is a Mentor at GAN, a community helping startups as they get off the ground. She previously volunteered as Head of Partnerships at Advancing Women in Product and as a Product Marketing Manager for the environmental group, TAO Global.
Those who have worked with her in the past have been blown away by her strong analytical and communication skills and strong client relationships, having a special ability to deal with even the toughest customers and internal stakeholders. These strong communication skills also help her when it's time to define analysis, identify opportunities and deliver impact. She is also extremely enthusiastic and always willing to learn and improve on her already strong skill set.
