Dan is a motivated systems-thinker with 10 years of software industry experience, strong user-experience intuition and bias for action. Currently, he’s Product Lead for Ads Measurement, Insights, and Data at Pinterest; leading a product team to accelerate Pinterest's Ads Measurement story. This includes first-party, third-party, internal and external tools/incubations to
share insights about Pinterest's users, behavior and activity on the platform. Prior to his role at Pinterest, Dan lent nearly 12 years of his expertise to Microsoft, where he led a multi-disciplinary team for a V1 product, built 2-year roadmap including a pilot, beta, launch plans, and marketing, as well as, worked across organizations and company divisions to deliver a competitive and comprehensive product for enterprise search. He also was the main driver for delivering Bing Search integration into Windows 10 with Cortana, resulting in volume and revenue lift to achieve profitability for Bing business, led the execution and cross-team problem solving for getting features to market with quality and stability while balancing customer promises and internal constraints, and led a UX team designing and developing Bing's experience for improving Query Formulation - Autosuggest, Related Searches, Speller; reducing user effort and improving time-to-task for users. Dan has a Bachelor of Software Engineering from the University of Waterloo and is delighted in solving hard problems and piecing together an end-to-end customer story to build great products that users love and drives to ship and take a balanced approach between principled and pragmatic problem-solving.
