Mayank is a Product Manager with 8+ years of experience building online marketplaces which includes Uber (first 5 PMs at Uber), eBay, and Handy (marketplace for home services).
He is now a Product Lead for Facebook Shops, including Instagram, focused on expansion strategy and execution. He previously worked with the company as the Product Lead for Facebook’s marketplace’s Real Estate category, leading the strategy and execution of building an online global marketplace with a team of engineers, designers, researchers, product marketing, data science, and partnerships. Also, driving “zero to one” global projects, and recently took the Facebook real estate marketplace global, while creating a strong c2c (peer to peer) ecosystem and a network of partners.
Prior to his role at Facebook, Mayank was Senior Product Manager at Handy HQ, he drove product strategy to increase demand by expanding into multiple platforms/channels, created pricing models strategies to optimize user behavior and retention, worked on understanding churn for providers (supply side), and created product solutions to improve retention and decrease the cost of acquisition. As one of the early Product Managers at Uber, Mayank led Uber’s riders web platform (riders.uber.com) and created it from scratch to provide a web platform for Uber riders. He began his Product Management career working at eBay, where he scaled eBay's trust and fraud products in the UK and Germany. Mayank has a Master of Science and Engineering from Columbia University in New York.
