Omi Iyamu

Omi is a Technical Product Manager with 10+ years of experience with a background in Machine Learning and expertise in Privacy Engineering. He has about 5 years of experience in people management, mostly leading and managing engineering teams, and has worked as an SWE, PM, and TPM. Omi’s style of leadership is more visionary but with the ability to be more tactical and hands-on if needed. He’s quick on his feet and able to customize lean and agile principles to best match whichever team and project he’s working on. Currently, Omi is a Lead Product Manager at Google, leading a research project called Magenta on the GoogleAI team. Magenta explores the role that AI can play in the creative space mainly using generative models. At Google, he’s lead different Privacy teams and efforts and worked on Privacy Engineering solutions across the Payments, Assistant, Search, Health, and Research Orgs. Prior to Google, Omi was the Cofounder of an Autonomous Drone Surveillance startup, worked as a Product Manager at Microsoft, and worked as an SWE at a couple of mid-sized companies. Outside of Google, he mentors and teaches startup founders Lean Principles, how to properly build and grow engineering teams, and help them with their Go To Market.
