Timothy is a Boston-based Principal Data Scientist at TripAdvisor, where he helps lead the company's efforts to make TripAdvisor, the world's largest travel platform helping travelers across the globe. His main areas of expertise include Matlab, Statistics and Python, however, Timothy is also highly skilled in scientific computing, machine learning, and data mining, to name a few. Prior to his current position at TripAdvisor, he has been working as a Senior Data Scientist for over a year. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree cum laude in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics from Rutgers and a Master’s degree in Astronomy from the University of Massachusetts. Upon graduation, he took up the role as a Data Scientist at RUN, New York-based leader in mobile-focused programmatic advertising technology that provides platform, products, and services globally. Parallel to his studies, Timothy has been working as an Undergraduate Researcher and Research Assistant. Firstly, at Rutgers, his responsibilities included determining the physical/intrinsic properties of a nearby galaxy through spectral line analysis. On top of his professional and academic endeavors, Timothy has undertaken some personal projects such as computer rankings for college athletics, betting line predictors for multiple sports, individual game simulators for the NFL, and data-driven astrology.
