Yi is a Product Manager in the software industry with a strong passion for product design. Today, she is leading the Strategy & Ecosystem teams along with the Azure IoT Platform team at Microsoft, empowering every person and every organization to achieve more. Yi began her professional career as a Research Assistant at MIT, where she was responsible for an advance lithium-sulfur battery research for commercial use in the future. Shortly after, she completed internships at Siemens in Müllheim, Germany and at Microsoft in Redmond, Washington. Her responsibilities at Siemens included conducting an engineering analysis for Siemens turbine and at Microsoft, she was working with the engineering team on Cortana adoption and assessment for the Windows ecosystem. She is currently studying at Stanford University towards a degree in Mining Massive Dataset; her studies merge Machine Learning, Analysis of Networks, Information Retrieval, and Web Search. Parallel to her studies, Yi is leading the company’s efforts at Microsoft to create a mobile- and cloud-first world. Her main areas of expertise include Rapid Prototyping, Statistics, and Research. Yi earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She is a young professional and an inspirational speaker who continues to develop her skills in Software and Product Design.
