Jonathan Hassell
Founder & Chief Executive, Hassell Inclusion
Jonathan is an award-winning digital inclusion thought leader, consultant, and avid speaker. He has spent over 17 years, successfully embedding accessibility and inclusive design into digital production teams.
Upon graduation, he began his professional career with BBC as an Editor. During his tenure at BBC and BBC New Media, he created and maintained a large body of technical, design and editorial standards and guidelines documentation for the London-based Broadcast Media. Apart from being a seasoned leader, Jonathan is also an innovative thinker with experience in product managing award-winning projects to enable disabled and elderly groups to gain better user experiences with new accessibility technologies. Today, under his leadership at Hassell Inclusion, a team of accessibility experts provides strategic accessibility transformation training and consultancy services for worldwide clients such as HSBC, Canon Europe, Scope and The Science Museum. At work, he strives to make inclusion easier and cheaper to implement through innovative digital projects.
He graduated from the University of Warwick with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Human-Computer Interaction from York University. An inspiring and educational speaker, Jonathan regularly shares his expertise at international conferences and is a visiting Professor at London Metropolitan University.
