Karen Ng

At HubSpot, Karen oversees the Smart CRM, Operations Hub, and Connected Ecosystem products, as well as strategic partnerships and business development. Previously, she was VP of Product and Data at Common Room, where she founded the product management and machine learning teams, guiding the company from 0–1 to its first significant revenue milestones. At Google, she served as Director of Product Management for Android, driving 0–1 innovations such as Jetpack Compose and Android Jetpack, which became essential tools for leading mobile apps. During her tenure at Microsoft, she led key initiatives, including the Xamarin acquisition, the reboot of the MSDN Developer Network, and the development of groundbreaking tools and cloud services for developers.

Recognized as a Product 50 Winner for “Best Digital Native Product Leader,” Karen is also an angel investor and expert in due diligence, with a passion for empowering startups. She holds three patents in areas such as code usage, syntax representation, and social-based recommendation systems, and her publications have advanced understanding in stress detection, interactive health assessments, and robotic expressivity. Karen’s achievements reflect her dedication to creating transformative products that scale to improve millions of lives while fostering an inclusive tech culture. She earned her M.S. in Media Arts and Sciences from MIT, focusing on machine learning, and a B.A. in Computer Science from Wellesley College.
