A Product Manager (PM) identifies customer needs, aligns new products or features with larger business objectives, and rallies a cross-functional team to turn that vision into reality. A Product Manager’s responsibilities include determining and prioritizing requirements for a specific product feature, researching customer pain points and their root causes, working closely with design teams to improve the customer experience, outlining and executing a detailed product strategy, managing cross-functional teams through influence, managing product roadmaps and releases, and advocating for the end user.
The ideal PM candidate will have a degree in business, marketing, computer science, engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience, 1-5 years of experience in a Product related role, and a proven ability in product development. At the intersection of technical ability, people skills and leadership intuition, a Product Manager must be as comfortable poring over spec drawings with an engineer as they would be extolling the virtues of a new feature before a crowd at a company event—communication skills are therefore vital.
