Ajay Laxman is a seasoned product leader with over 13 years of experience building innovative consumer and platform products. As the Group Product Manager for Dropbox's flagship product for professionals, he is responsible for identifying and implementing the next set of products beyond file storage, sync, and sharing. With his expertise, he is guiding Dropbox to become a market leader in this space.
Before joining Dropbox, Ajay led a group of Product Managers at Spotify, where he served personalized concert recommendations to every Spotify listener, reinforcing the connection that fans have with artists. Prior to that, he was leading the Identity Group within MediaMath, responsible for building ConnectedID, which allowed advertisers to target consumers with the right message on the right device at the right time.
Ajay's passion lies in building products that combine design-based thinking with state-of-the-art technology, with the aim to enrich people's lives and make them happier. He has exceptional problem-solving skills and has been very resourceful in delivering superior-quality of deliverables. His meticulous approach and innovative thinking have earned him a reputation as a diligent and innovative team member.
With a Master of Science in Information Systems Management from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Telecommunication from the University of Mumbai, Ajay has a strong educational background. His ability to manage timelines and deliverables on projects with ease and leverage the best out of his team are his standout qualities. He has very good communication skills and knows how to pace his work and manage relationships, making him ideally suited to managerial functions.
