Akila Kesavasamy

Akila Kesavasamy is a Meta Product Leader currently working on Messaging Data Privacy. Her previous projects with the company include building a 0-1 strategic initiative to connect WhatsApp and Messenger to allow people to stay in contact with friends and family regardless of the app they use and Project LightSpeed, a ground-up rewrite of the iOS Messenger app.

Before joining Meta, Akila was a Senior Associate at Strategy&, a Houston-based strategy consulting team part of the PwC network. She also worked as an Engineer in Charge at Schlumberger, managing a $20M P&L and a team of over 20 engineers, operators, and technicians.

Akila attended the Indian Institue of Technology, Madras for her Bachelor of Technology. She also holds an MBA from the Texas McCombs School of Business.
