Annemarie is building communities of loyal readers through user behavior and signaling, outreach mediums, and platform-agnostic engagement. Currently, she’s Membership Product Lead at The Wall Street Journal, migrating email and notifications off two legacy platforms, organizing strategy and scope around personalization and discovery systems, including data capturing, onboarding, and active personalization. Prior to her current role, Annemarie was Director of Programming and Retention Growth lead at Vox Media, where she launched distributed platform projects: Snapchat, Instagram Stories, Apple News and Facebook Watch and Live, and originated Vox Media newsletter program, incorporating statistics standards, Product Management, and email growth into company KPIs, while training the newsroom on new platforms and email standards. She got her start in Management working at HuffPost as a Senior Community Editor, building a team of community managers to build niche audience segments, training editors to utilize user contributions including reader blogs, twitter chats, photo submissions, and polls. Annemarie also created a beta tester program engaging the core user base with a system of user elevation toward user acquisition and UGC, and built a system of social media partnerships that led to 20% growth in referrals and social audience. She has a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from City University of New York.
