Dave Strang

Dave Strang is a Product Leader with experience building and scaling commerce infrastructure, developer platforms, and data products across Shopify, RBC Ventures, AdParlor, and Clearfit. Currently a Staff Product Manager at Shopify, he leads work across the checkout platform, helping make critical commerce experiences faster, more reliable, and easier to scale for millions of buyers and merchants. His work spans multi-merchant checkout, web performance, customer data, and platform capabilities used by merchants, developers, and internal teams across Shopify.

Prior to his current role, Dave led Shopify’s signals platform, including APIs, developer tools, attribution systems, and large-scale data infrastructure processing billions of events each day. Earlier in his career, he served as Head of Product at RBC Ventures and built new digital ventures from the ground up, while also launching AI-powered advertising products and predictive analytics solutions at AdParlor and Clearfit. Dave is drawn to complex, ambiguous product challenges and brings a first-principles approach to building platforms that are dependable, scalable, and valuable to both customers and developers.
