Michelle is the former Chief Product Officer at Hinge, leading the way in mobile dating by providing the first experience that helps users find relationships worth deleting the app over. She is currently lending her talents as the Product Executive in Residence at Product School.
Before this, she was a Product Innovation Lead for the Global Kids and Family team at Netflix. She used consumer insights and data analysis to look for the next big opportunities for the kids and family product area. She also led a complete revamp of the parental controls features while working closely with policy and insights to present research and tools to government and advocacy organizations worldwide.
She has also been a Product Lead at Spotify working on the personalization and recommendations platform. Her projects included the Duo and Family Plan, Share Listening, and Discovery Recommendations. She also scaled the system to speed up innovation across the company. She has also spent time as the Head of Product for Hotels at KAYAK, a Senior Product Manager at Cengage, and a Product Manager at Pearson.
Michelle earned her Bachelors's degree from DePauw University. She majored in Biology and Chemistry and Minored in Education Studies. During her studies, she was a part of the Bonner Scholars and Information Technology Apprentice programs. She is also a Certified Scrum Master and Product Owner.
Her colleagues truly believe that she makes the companies she is a part of better for their members and clients. She is able to understand and empathize with her customers as well as her colleagues. Her door is always open, even virtually, for comments, questions, and concerns from her team. She has a great level of trust and respect for her partners and really helps strengthen their own product expertise. She knows how to lead a high-performing team into a clearly defined vision in order to create immaculate products and results.
