Milène Darnis

Milène is witty, curious, and quick at understanding and analyzing user needs in order to define a product vision. Her technical background and attention to detail makes her very capable of working with both engineers and designers. She is also well organized and a fast learner, which is essential when constantly multi-tasking and facing new problems. Currently, she’s a Product Manager at Heap. Prior to her current role, Milène was a Product Manager of the Experimentation Platform at Uber. As a member of the Data team, she was responsible for building and maintaining Uber’s core datasets (trips, riders, drivers, etc.) and migrated pipelines from Vertica to Hadoop (Hive, Presto, Spark). Additionally, Milène reduced the latency of critical datasets from 24h to 3h, drove adoption of core datasets from 0% (joined the team at its creation) to 80%, and created Uber’s Databook: a centralized platform to understand the company’s Data ecosystem. She first gained experience as a Product Manager working at FEBERNOVEL, where she conducted field studies and brainstorming sessions in order to articulate user-centered design solutions. Milène created workflows, wireframes, and mock-ups, wrote product requirements documents and tracked the performance of the products via analytics. She has a Bachelor’s in Mathematics and Computer Science and a Master’s Degree in Management of Science and Engineering from Telecom ParisTech.
