Prerna Kaul is a high-performing and growth-minded product leader with 11+ years of product and engineering experience sitting at the intersection of retail business, platform products, and artificial intelligence. She enjoys talking about product growth, building roadmaps, user empathy, and shipping products at scale. Currently, Prerna is a Senior Technical Product Manager of Payment Services at Amazon. Prior to her current role, she was a Mobile Product Manager at Walmart Labs.
Prerna first gained experience in Sofware Engineering working at Deutsche Bank, where she implemented a fault-tolerant persistence component (back-end) to process foreign trades, reducing data loss by 20% daily, and designed a new approach for sending real-time alerts (mobile and desktop application), enabling multi-sided trading and backward compatibility. Afterward, she became an Assistant Vice President at Citi, leading the product development of new trade reporting software (web and back-end) while managing relationships with a cross-functional team of traders and engineers based in New York, London, and Shanghai. However, her first experience working in Product Management was a Points, building features for the Points Loyalty Commerce Platform (LCP), and Points Business Solutions (PBS) products. Her role involved conducting user research, formulating product strategy, designing new user experiences, and launching product features based on data-driven analysis. Prerna’s expertise includes: Leading and managing, cross-functional teams, new product development using Java, Python, and Javascript, User empathy and human-centered design thinking, and agile methodology (Certified Scrum Master).
