Umesh Sripad is a veteran Product Management professional, who has decades of leadership experience within Product and Technology disciplines. In his current engagement at Overstock.com (one of the largest e-retailers in the USA), he heads up Omni-channel Consumer Product teams. His responsibilities span across digital products, personalization, search, payments, etc. Prior to joining Overstock, Umesh headed up Publishing and Advertising Products for CNN. Before that, he headed up product teams for Globalization and International growth for The Weather Channel.
Umesh is from New Zealand, he kicked off his career with APN News and Media (leading Media company in NZ) as a Product Manager and worked his way up to be Head of Product Management for their flagship product nzherald.co.nz. He has won several awards and made significant contributions to the field of Product Management and the success of the NZ Herald.
Umesh is very passionate and obsessed with consumer product technologies, he strives towards building the best consumer product experience. His knowledge and experience also span across Globalization and Localization technologies and growing a business/product globally.
Finally, he is a modern leader who believes that Product Managers are true all-rounders who need to have good basic knowledge on all facets of the product (Technology, UX, Marketing, Commercialization, Data/insights, Finance, Content, etc). Outside of his professional career, he likes to Travel, watch British stand-up comedy, and play tennis.
